Veet, in collaboration with Derana TV, conducted the ‘Miss Derana Veet Sri Lanka’ beauty pageant with great fanfare and publicity befitting the gala event at the Galadari Hotel, Grand Ballroom.
The winner of Miss Sri Lanka 2011 for Miss World 2011 Pushpika De Silva, who hails from Polonnaruwa, was crowned by Miss Sri Lanka 2010 Fallon Ranasinghe. In addition to the several other mini pageant titles, she won the titles of Veet Top Model and Best National Costume. She will represent Sri Lanka in the forthcoming Miss World 2011 pageant to be held in London.
Many aspiring young women from various parts of the country competed for the prestigious crown with an opportunity to gain invaluable experience and exposure in the company of professionals in the relevant fields of beauty, posture, personality development, grooming techniques and catwalk training.
Veet is proud to sponsor this event for the fourth consecutive year, which showcased the talents, cultural heritage, values and the inner and outer beauty of young Sri Lankan women.
